This was the other final painting for my Intro to Figure Painting class, it was painted looking at a picture I found on tumblr actually, I love loved the mood of it and the woman's hair. I suck at hair, so that was my focus for this one. And I'm pretty happy with it! Her skin turned out being a bit bland, though I like the shadows on her face. Doing the pattern on the corset was another challenge but I tried to keep it simple, just like with the lace and other little details. I love doing portraits but never had the nerve to do one like this before, so I enjoyed pushing myself. This was painted with a character of mine in mind actually, Elyria from As Simple as Black and White, she was in the night club concept art as well

I was thinking this is a photo, no it's digital, but it's an oil painting and is amazing! It's brilliant and expressive!

Thank you! Grid helps.

Hi, i love this picture so much, would you mind if i use it in a story that I'm writing? I will credit you if you want

That's fine with me
It was a painting I did off a picture I found.

Oh okay, thanks a million

Lovely Image. You've been featured here jamie-nicole.deviantart.com/
Can I request a print?

I'm not sure. This is the highest resolution of the picture I still have, as my computer crashed. I should be getting the original oil canvas back in a month or so if my Ex hasn't sold it.

Wow, that's beyond amazing! Great!

Thank you!

You've got some really nice confident brushwork on this one, I like it!

Thanks! I spent ages on the grid drawing on this painting, trying to get the base as strong as I could and as dead on to the reference as possible. So when I finally started having fun with it I went a little bold in brush strokes. I just wish now that her skin wasn't quite so flat to my eyes. I might update the painting if the canvas is still around, I left it behind when I moved out from my Ex's place.

The dress and value shifts in the skin and the face, I have to give you props on, nice work indeed.

Grid on canvas, drawing on it with pencil and pastels, hours and hours of careful painting pays off I guess lol.

almost photographic

Thanks, though I can see the flaws.

Holy crap. O_O

Is that a good thing? Lol

*nods* O_O

Oh yay

This is really pretty.

Thank you
Lots and lots of time went into it.
